The 2nd stop for the 2024 Neuse Sports Shop Eastern NC Bass Challenge was held this past weekend on Kerr Lake. 112 teams competed in this event all vying for a 1st place prize of $3,600!
57 5-bass limits were brought to the scales Sunday but none were bigger than the 5 bass weighing 15.39 pounds weighed in by John and JT Denton!
After the tournament, JT Denton spoke about their day on the water: “Kerr Lake, either you love it or hate it, and about 10:00 o’clock we were hating it. We had two fish in the live well and we were debating on leaving our primary area, but something in our gut told us to stay and grind it out. We ended up catching 15-20 keepers and culled all the way to the winning bag. It was an all-day grind, but it worked out in the end.”
John and JT were awarded our Neuse Sports Shop 1st Place prize of $3,600 and 2 commemorative trophies. The Bass Challenge is guaranteeing a minimum of $3,000 to 1st place at every tournament this year thanks to Neuse Sports Shop! Our next stop is April 28 on the Neuse River in New Bern, NC.
The Bass Challenge paid cash prizes to our top 18 teams in this event. It took 11.37Â pounds to finish inside the Bass Challenge money line. We also paid prizes for our top 3 big fish winners. A $400 prize for the Greenville Toyota 1st place big fish, a $100 cash prize for our 2nd big fish thanks to Dereks Boxes, and our 3rd big fish winners were awarded a free t-shirt from Striker Apparel.
