On a record-setting day, the Eastern NC Bass Challenge and the Collins Bass for Cash held a joint bass tournament that showcased 156 teams (including 9 youth teams) competing on the Roanoke River in Plymouth NC. Of all the teams competing, it was Bobby Clarke and Jeff Peterson who took the victory as they weighed in a giant bag of bass that scored 23.06 lbs on the Collins Bass for Cash Weigh-in Scales.
With their 5 fish limit, they took home $7,455 in winnings which included a $2,700 side pot cash prize and a $1,000 Cashion Bonus Bucks prize! They were also awarded 2 Cashion Fishing Rods valued at $400 and 2 custom trophies!
Finishing in 2nd Place was Matt Kimbrell and Jamie Williams. The team weighed in a whopping 22.72 lbs of bass that was nearly enough to take the victory! Anchoring their bag was a 9.62 lb bass that secured the team the tournament big fish prize!
Matt and Jamie took home $1,992 for their 2nd place victory plus an additional $1,460 for their tournament big fish making their total take-home winnings $3,452!
With 19.30 lbs, Brian Cooper and Mike Evans took 3rd place honors. They weighed in a hefty 5 bass limit that helped them take home $1,226 in winnings!
Many great bags of bass were weighed-in at the event. Multiple fish were weighed in that were greater than 5 lbs. Additionally, there were 2 fish that weighed-in over 9 lbs! It was truly a great day of fishing for many teams! This event paid cash winnings to the top 20 teams participating. The full results can be found below.
This event also featured a youth tournament in which 9 teams participated in. The youth blasted off after the general tournament started and those contestants weighed-in at 2:00 pm. The youth tournament was won by the team of Kieran Stephenson & Grady Stanley who weighed in 9.26 lbs of bass! They weighed in a lunker of 5.02 lbs that was the big fish in the youth tournament as well! Winners of the youth series were awarded Ranger Wear Gift Cards.
