Each year at our Championship event, we pause to honor and remember the life of Kolby Jones, a passionate and dedicated young bass angler who tragically passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at just 20 years old. Kolby was a valued member of our fishing community, competing in the NC Bass Challenge alongside his father, Keven, as his tournament partner. His love for fishing and soccer, along with his kind spirit and determination, left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

To celebrate his legacy and keep his memory alive within our fishing community, we proudly present the Kolby Jones Tournament Big Bass Award and the Kolby Jones Day 2 Big Bag Cash Prize each year. These honors serve as a heartfelt tribute to a young man who brought enthusiasm, heart, and dedication to every event he fished. Kolby may be gone, but he will never be forgotten.

These prizes have been donated by the Kolby Jones Foundation. 100% of the donation will be awarded to our anglers.

Kolby Jones Memorial Tournament Big Fish Prize: $1,000 + commemorative trophy
Kolby Jones Day 2 Big Bag: $2,000 (Awarded to the team who weighs in the heaviest 5-fish limit on Day 2 of the event)
