The Eastern NC Bass Challenge opened our 2019 season this past weekend on the Roanoke River. Over 60 teams competed in our first tournament vying for nearly $4000 in cash payouts. While many anglers found the bite to be tough on the Roanoke River, the team of Jason Tripp and JA Williford dropped the hammer on Sunday with a bag of bass that tipped the scales at 26.86 lbs!
Tripp & Williford Take 1st Place
Jason Tripp and JA Williford dominated the field Sunday by weighing in a 5 fish limit of 26.86 lbs! They beat the second place team by nearly 7 lbs. Their weight marks the highest bag of fish ever weighed in at an Eastern NC Bass Challenge tournament. Their limit of fish was anchored by multiple 6 lb bass. The team was rewarded with a cash prize of $1,600!
2nd Place went to the team of Brian Stalls and Clark Harrington who had a great bag of fish that weighed in at 19.98 lbs! The teams bag was anchored by a beautiful 7.50 lb bass that helped propel them to 2nd place. The 7.50 lb bass also tied for tournament big fish! Brian and Clark were rewarded $900 for their 2nd place win plus a split big fish prize of $175 making their winnings $1,075!
The Rest of the Field

A Split Big Fish Prize
For the first time ever we had a tie for Big Fish! Thanks to Greenville Toyota we’re able to gaurantee $350 for the big fish prize at each of our regular season tournaments. 2 teams weighed in a 7.50 lb bass!
