With 16.62 lbs, Brock Rouse and Parker Mills won the 2020 season opener on the Tar/Pamlico River. The Eastern NC Bass Challenge started our 2020 season this past Sunday on in Washington, NC as 58 teams competed for a $1,600 1st Place prize.
The team weighed in multiple fish in the 4 pound range and edge out the win as 8 teams weighed in bags of bass of 14 pounds or greater. Brock and Parker had a 4.96 lb bass that anchored their bag and secured their victory. Brock Rouse said after the event they should have had nearly 20 lbs but were happy to have the win. The team said they fished both the Tar and Pamlico Rivers during the event.
For their phenomenal day on the water the Brock and Parker took home $1,600 in winnings.
2nd Place was won by the team of Jeff Stoops and Mike Henson. They brought a great bag of bass to the scales. The team weighed-in a 5 bass limit for 15.96 lbs. The team won $1,100 in winnings after their great day on the water.
With 15.58 lbs, Wayne Stallings and Justin Everett took home 3rd place honors on the Tar/Pamlico. The team weighed-in a solid 5 bass limit. This year we’ve restructured our payout percentages to award 3rd place with better payouts. Wayne and Justin were able to take home $650 in winnings after a great day on the Tar/Pam.
The biggest fish brought to the scales this past weekend was caught by Allen Campbell and Chris Crandell. They weighed in a 6.40 lb giant bass. The big fish prize all year long in the Eastern NC Bass Challenge is $300 thanks to our great friends at Greenville Toyota.
A lot of great bags of fish were weighed-in on the Tar/Pamlico River this past weekend. With 8 teams weighing in 14 lbs or greater, the Tar/Pamlico proved it is one of the finer fisheries in eastern North Carolina.
Finishing in 4th place was Chris Cox and Monte Morgan with 15.50 lbs. Chris and Monte took home $275 in winnings.
Finishing in 5th place was Zeb West and Jay Haggard. The team brought 15.48 lbs to the scales and won $140.
The final money spot, 6th place was taken by John Jenkins and Phillip Silverthorn. They brought 15.22 lbs to the scales and won $100.
