COLLINS $10K CHAMPIONSHIP - AUG 8-9
Plymouth, NC – Tanner Beaman and Travis Mewborn stayed patient through a tough bite on the Roanoke River, weighing a five-fish limit of 24.60 pounds to claim the tournament title and the $4,500 top prize.
In a day where quality bites were hard to earn across the field of 104 boats, Beaman and Mewborn separated themselves early and never looked back, building a commanding margin of more than three pounds over the runner-up. Their winning bag was anchored by a 6.67-pound kicker, one of the biggest fish caught all day.
“We were fortunate to put together a solid day by focusing on areas that gave us the confidence to get bites,” the winners said. “The key was staying patient, making the right adjustments throughout the day, and capitalizing when we got opportunities. The fish weren’t easy to come by, but we trusted our game plan, made the most of our chances, and were able to put together a quality bag.”
Shane Doughtie and Evan White took second with 21.44 pounds, backed by a 6.10-pound big fish, while Maitland Howard and Wyland Howard rounded out the podium in third at 20.88 pounds. Tyler Little and Chase Crocker (19.74) and Thomas Craft and Spencer Barrow (19.16) completed the top five.
The tournament’s biggest bass belonged to Kevin Jones and Tyler Jones, whose 7.28-pound giant led all comers — a standout catch on a day when limits came at a premium.
