Our $6,000 Championship will take place on August 17-18 on the Chowan River in Edenton, NC. Our 1st place prize will be the largest we’ve ever offered thanks to our Title Sponsor, Neuse Sport Shop.
This will be the first time we’ve held our Championship tournament in Edenton and we’re excited about the opportunity to have our 2-day tournament at Pembroke Creek. The Chowan River is one of the most popular fisheries in the state. It provides ample opportunity for anglers as you have many different rivers and tributaries to choose from on the Albemarle Sound.
This tournament is scheduled to be a 2-Day tournament. It will take place on August 17-18. All anglers are eligible to compete on both days of competition. There are official off-limits days and times for this event. Please continue reading.

Launch Ramp: Pembroke Creek Boat Ramp
Fish Limit: 5 fish, All fish must be 14 inches or greater
This tournament WILL feature off-limits dates. The official off-limits days and time for this tournament are as follows:
Anglers must be off tournament waters 1 hour after the official local sunset time on Sunday, August 11. Anglers must remain off tournament waters until 1 hour before the official local sunrise time on Friday, August 16. Friday is an official practice day for this tournament.
Official Times are as follows:
Sunday August 11 Sunset Time: 8:00 pm
Friday August 16 Sunrise Time: 6:26 am
YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE ON TOURNAMENT WATERS FOR ANY REASON DURING THE OFF-LIMIT DATES AND TIMES. BEING ON TOURNAMENT WATERS DURING OFF-LIMITS DAYS WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION.
Our crew will be on-site at 4:45 am each tournament day to handle angler check-in for the event. All anglers must check in with our staff and receive a boat number slip before our tournament begins. Blast off will begin at safe light. We always blast our anglers off as early as possible to maximize fishing time. We anticipate blasting off for this event at approximately 6:15 am.
Onsite Angler Check-in: 4:45 am
Blast Off: Safe Light – Approximately 6:15 am
Weigh-in: 3:00 pm
Early Weigh-in: All anglers may begin weighing in at 1:30 pm if needed.
Our Championship Tournament will feature increased payouts. They are as follows:

Kolby Jones Tournament Big Bass Award: $1000
Kolby Jones Day 2 Big Bag: $1000
We’ve honored the late Kolby Jones every year for the past 3 seasons. Kolby was a dedicated angler who died in a car accident in 2021. He regularly participated with the Collins Bass for Cash youth series and the NC Bass Challenge. We’re very proud to be able to keep his name alive by offering these 2 prizes, the Kolby Jones Tournament Big Fish and the Kolby Jones Day 2 Big Bag. We want to give all teams a reason to come fish the 2nd day of our tournament, so the team who weighs in the biggest bag of bass on Day will receive this $1,000 reward.
We will modify the payout structure for this event to pay 1 in every 8 boats competing.
We’re happy to offer our anglers several incentives and contingency prizes this year. Our events in 2024 will be officially sanctioned events for the following contingencies:
There is ample parking at this location. Anglers may use the grassy area as seen in the below image to park.
PLEASE READ – Live well checks will be performed before you launch your boat. After you launch your boat into the water, please idle out of the Pembroke Creek canal and stage in front of the Queen Street bridge. We will call boat numbers from the bridge. Once your boat number is called, you will need to idle under the bridge, out of the no-wake zone, and then you may get on plane to start your day. If you are not exiting Pembroke Creek, you do not need to idle under the bridge.
The top 6 teams in our Super 6 Point Standings earned boats 1-6 for this event. After those 6, teams are assigned boat numbers based on the order of registration. We blast off boats in order based on these numbers. Every 25 boats will begin a new flight. The first flight is due back in at 3:00 pm and every proceeding flight after that is due back in 10 minutes later. Boat numbers are visible on the homepage of this website.
ON DAY 2 OF THE TOURNAMENT, BOAT NUMBERS WILL BE BASED ON THE STANDINGS AFTER DAY 1. BOAT NUMBERS WILL BE PLACED ON THE HOME PAGE OF THIS WEBSITE.
All fees may be paid online or in person on the morning of the tournament with cash, credit card, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.

Other Angler Incentives:
All prize winnings will be paid out with official “Jeffrey Davis Fishing” checks. Please deposit these checks within 30 days of the tournament. By request, anglers may receive their payouts digitally through PayPal, Cash App, or Venmo. Anglers may also choose to forward their winnings towards an entry fee for future tournaments.
Anglers should expect a Polygraph Test to be given at this event.
During the weigh-in, anglers will be able to view their results and current standings on our Live Leaderboard. We will also be live-streaming the weigh-in on our Facebook/Instagram accounts so family and friends can watch online. Make sure you’re following us on our official Instagram and Facebook accounts.
